Schwimmwagen - Binoculars

These German WW2 Dienstglas 6x30 Field Glasses in Sand Yellow would have been an essential piece of equipment on any Schwimmwagen. The versatility of this vehicle meant it was commonly used for scouting the forward lines.

1. Eye piece protector.

2. Main body.

3. Button flap

4. Leather neck strap.

When not being used the slit in the button flap would have been fastened through a button on the tunic whilst being wornaround the wearers neck.

As can be seen here Field Glasses would have been a common site amongst the other essential pieces of equipment carried by the Schwimmwagen crew.
